Room: 10/10

Bathroom: 10/10

Service: 11/15

  • Arrival Experience 2023: Arrived at hotel early morning around 6am. Was greeted by valet staff who opened car door and took luggage. When to 85th floor for check in. Front desk agent said I must have had an early flight. I asked if I could check in early, nicely stated checking in now would be half day rate, so I decided to lounge in the lobby before meeting a friend for breakfast. Agent took my phone number and said I would get a notification when the room was ready. I ended up getting the notification around 10am and was able to check in early. My status was acknowledged and I was given a late checkout. Agent warned that because the room was on the 88th floor, it is typically on the colder side as the heat does not work well that high up. They sent a space heater for my friend. In my opinion, being transparent about possible issues like this helps establish trust between the guests and staff. Luggage was delivered shortly after.

  • Arrival Experience 2025: Arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and was greeted by valet staff who look luggage. Young lady who was in intern introduced herself to us and escorted us up to the front desk. During check in, I asked for an upgrade as booking on points comes with the base level room. Agent offered to show me a paid upgrade option and the room that was booked, which was a nice gesture. I went with an upgrade to a bund view room. For the first time in a while at Hyatt, my status was not acknowledged until I asked for a late checkout. Agent said he could not gurantee the late checkout now as it was based on availability. From my knowledge, this was incorrect information as a non-resort Hyatt hotels offers guaranteed late checkout for tiered members, but I did not dispute since I was leaving in the morning. The welcome letter I received had a cake, which I asked where in the hotel I could get. However, the staff told me that they no longer had the item, meaning the letter was outdated.

  • Housekeeping: Turndown was provided during both stays, and items requested were quickly delivered each time. During 2025 stay, I asked for my room to be serviced when I was going out. I returned 2 hours later to find service was not done. Housekeeper in the hallway saw me taking a towel front the cart, and apologized they did not get to my room yet. She offered to replenish towerls and get me any other items I needed.

  • During my 2023 say, the toto washlet cleansing did not work, so we called to have engineering take a look. The engineer was unable to fix it, but the front desk apologized and offered free breakfast to compensate without us asking.

Dining: 8/10

  • Was able to have lunch at 100 Century Avenue Cantonese, which is a Cantonese restaurant at the 91st floor facing east side away from the bund. The ambiance of the restaurant was more casual and contrasted a bit from the rest of the hotel. Despite this, the design of the space with ceilings so high you could not see the spot of from most area created a comfortable but also elevated dining experience.

  • Breakfast was served in the 100 Century Avenue Steakhouse room, offering great views of the bund. It was a semi-buffet style, combining a selection of Western and Chinese dishes with freshly prepared, made-to-order options. My friend and I thought the food was quite ordinary and not elevated like we had hoped, but the restaurant environment was great.

Amenities: 4/5

  • Hotel has an indoor infinity style pool on the 85th floor. Upon entering the pool area, you are offered water and towels. Next to the pool there is a hot tub. Pool was never crowded and the design creates a cozy and luxurious feel. The lockers room has dyson hair dryers. One major detractor is that their is no divider between the pool area and the guest room on the 85th floor, leading to a noticeable chlorine scent as guests on the 85th floor exit the elevator.

  • Hotel provided spongy waffle slippers during 2023 stay which were super comfortable.

Ambiance: 10/10

  • The ambiance of Park Hyatt Shanghai is what makes this my favorite hotel I have stayed at in the world. As soon as you step onto the property, even in the valet area, you feel an instance sense of calmness. The ground lobby is the definition of minimalist and understand luxury, with extremely high ceilings, unique sculptures, and modern lighting. The sky lobby is dimly lit, and gives you the same calming feeling as the ground lobby and hotel room. When in public areas, you feel that you are in a private residence instead of a hotel. I love the design of the wall signage, with has small font and is lift by an individual modern overhead light.

Total: 53/60 (December 2023 and November 2025 Stays)
